This is lovely on many levels. I don't know if it's the way she's been drawn or just her, but she's just so beautiful. The lines of her face and the hairs shaping around it, and the calm gaze.. Idk..

Have you ever tried and .7 or a .9? I started using a Pentel Twisterase which is .9, and I loved the softness and fluidity of the lead combined with the width of the lead.... it gives a much softer feel than a smaller lead, and is much harder to break. Love all your drawings.

Fantastic! Β What at a beautiful woman. Β I love how you shaded her face and neck to look like brushstrokes, on such a tiny space the detail is amazing. Β Also the way the portrait is shot through with light is breathtaking. Β I've always had trouble doing light like that. Β Do you have any advice, tips, or insight into your process?

Is that charcoal up top or a graphite stick? Β I'm curious because I don't know the best tools to do something like this... though I've been trying just with a mechanical pencil for a while. Β I understand if you don't have time to respond but I'd very much appreciate it if you did.Β
