A snapshot of one of the member states of the Princely Federation in Kaiserreich's 1936 scenario.

In many ways the former British Bombay Presidency provided an apt illustration of the entire federation's structure. It had no single ruler like Mysore, Hyderabad or Travancore-Cochin but shared sovereignty in a Maratha council of princes. The many princely states utilized the establishment of the "Bombay State" by annexing large parts of the presidency formerly directly governed by the British thus creating for themselves much more potent personal fiefs. The remaining cantonments, such as the urban centre of Poona, were organized as smaller versions of the overarching Maratha union with various minor zamindars and landlords governing the districts. This also led to the state gaining its nickname as the "Babushka State" by commentators in the rival successor governments of Delhi and Calcutta.
