"And then, there was pain. In an uncontrolled outburst from this pain, Danny shot into the air. He was glowing a brilliant green and clenching his muscles as he embraced the sensation.

First it was his eyes. He was blinded for the moment from the pain and the transformation. It felt as though a claw had grasped his eyeballs, and was tearing them out of their very sockets. They were being compressed into tine little pieces of nothingness that screeched with a horrible, stabbing agony.

And then came the burn. Every tiny capillary inside of his body ignited, emitting fire that spread into his bloodstream, kissing his skin with flames. Each vein burned, causing his blood vessels to bulge throughout his body, turning his face into that from a horror movie, with his circulatory system nearing the surface of his body. He could feel the veins pop out from under his skin, and scorch everything in him.

He could feel the very tips of the hairs on the crown of his head begin to blaze, incinerating his scalp. It caused an unbearable suffering that was so great; Danny almost regretted what he had done.

And finally came the distortion. Danny could physically feel his face being molded into a different form. His ears were pulled to a point where they actually grew, and he could feel every inch of it. His teeth were tugged at until he produced hideous vampire-like fangs. His tongue was stretched, thinned, and split, causing an aching in the bottom of his mouth where his new forked tongue was connected.

Unintentionally, Danny tried to grasp at his face where he felt the most pain. He could claw at his head, but it wouldn’t do any good, so he dropped his hands and formed fists as he embraced the torment. He did this unknowingly, for all he could think about was the pain, and for a few moments in which he was absolutely tortured, the agony took control of his life. It forced him to send out the loudest cry that he had ever made, causing his throat to sting as well.

And yet, Danny couldn’t hear his own wailing. In fact, all he could hear was the throbbing of his pulse into his ears, burning his skull.

There was him and his pain, nothing else.

Absolute pain for absolute freedom.

And finally it became too much for him. The agony overpowered his senses. Even the slightest movement would send a pang through his nerves. It blocked everything, and he couldn’t even feel himself black out and fall to the ground with a hard crash."
