Description
The Milbanke Sound Group volcanic field is an enigmatic set of volcanoes (mostly cinder cones) located in British Columbia, Canada. The most prominent of the cones is Kitasu Hill, located in the southeast of Swindle Island, is densely forested up to its crater and has a small band that connects the island with the American mainland (probably originating from deeper solidified lava flows), but other cones of slag are scattered around the area. The last eruption of the volcanic field is unknown, but what is known is that it occurred in the Holocene.Image source: Global Volcanism Program (Smithsonian Institute)
