Description
In 1902, the Santa María volcano in Guatemala erupted, the column of smoke was such that it reached the United States and caused the mountain where the volcano was to slide, causing it to collapse. By the way, this volcano caused the death of 5,000 Guatemalans and an additional 1,000 deaths because of epidemics that spread among the residents.
Note: the Santiaguito lava dome was formed after this eruption, and this dome that is on the Santa Maria volcano has constant activity, which means that, as much as the Santiaguito lava dome is active, this does not mean that the volcano main is active.
