Background - "Feather" © Me 2003Foreground - "Lilo" © Disney
The background was derived from several gradiants, superimposed on one another using arithmetic formulas in Paintshop Pro. Quite an interesting and surprising result. Lilo was scanned from a large poster. As my scanner is only A4, I had to scan her in 3 steps and 'stitch' (!) them together. Do the lengthy cutty-outy template to make her into transparent/layer. The template was huge - 4444 pixels. Resized her to 800 to upload on DA

Thanks! This was in my early days of dA waaaaay back in 2008. I mainly did just backgrounds back then, including on this piece. Lilo herself was scanned from a large poster. Had to be done in 4 goes, then stitched (lol pun not intended) together.

Hi, and thanks! I've been getting into colouring backgrounds and linearts recently, and of course getting heavily involved with Lilo. My next challenge though is to draw Lilo from scratch. Until I achieve that, I'm way behind the talents of the Deviants!

I love Lilo, she's not like any other Disney characters, she's not thin like the princesses etc. She's chubby and different. Lilo rocks!x

Thanks for the comment here and on your Mulan/Lilo Deviation! I love Lilo for exactly the same reason. She's not your stereotypical princess, damsel, nor does she have special powers. She turns things around simply be being who she is, but of course, by learning from mistakes along the way. She's cute to boot too
