And here's Malak, the second name mentioned on the elemental level up screen in ANB. When I first designed him I didn't like his colours, but I grew to like them and they felt fitting. For some reason when I read the name "Malak" I always envisioned him being blue but I didn't really want him to look too unique in appearance.

Malak was the apprentice of Dragsooth and would take her place when she stepped down. He was taken in by her as a child, having lost his parents to the war.
He suffered from severe anger and self hatred, which would unleash itself as a crackling flame when he experienced intense bouts of rage. Dragsooth would use their training sessions as ways to help him find ways of calming himself, using the concentration required to harness fire as a way to also manage and control his anger.
It was through this training, as well as defending Warfang from a deadly assault, that he would unlock the true potential of the fire ball, the sparking and explosive nature of his fire increasing the deadliness, transforming those sparks into deadly bombs.
During this deadly assault this new form of fireball would earn the title of "Malak's Fire Bomb of the Burning Plains", as it would set the battlefield alight.

Unfortunately Dragsooth and Malak's relationship would strain as he grew older, as while Dragsooth had intended for the techniques she taught to be used in self defense, Malak would seek out confrontation and be the one to start fights. It wouldn't be until after Dragsooth left and his own apprentice began to share his behavior that he would start to understand the hard way why she had warned him not to misuse her teachings.

Some trivia

-The burns and other injuries covering his body are his own doing from when he would lash out with his fire, he refused to have them healed.

- Though he was capable of doing so, he hated using the fully mastered fire breath as it required patience and concentration, preferring fire balls as his main attack.

- Much information on Malak Dragsooth had written is missing, as he made sure to destroy any books or scrolls documenting him he could find.
