I know, it's pretty lame, but I just couldn't help myself! I had to do it! Don't look at me like that!! *hides*No, but seriously, after I read Roger Ebert's review ([link] ), I was torn between laughing my ass off and feeling kind of sorry for Shyamalan. But to be honest, back in 2008 when I heard who was directing a live action movie of Avatar: The Last Airbender, with an all white cast, I immediately dismissed it as potential shit. Turns out I was right, I guess...
Though I am a little curious about the movie itself...all I've heard is terrible stuff, and I know I'm not going to waste money to go see it...maybe I can find a streamed version of it somewhere or something :\
But still...Bad M. Night Shyamalan! Your 15 minutes of fame is over! Stop making bad movies!!! *smack*

Will people stopped blaming the directors all the time! There is alot of stones to be cast at producers and fanboys for demanding crap like this be made. Case in point, all of those god-awful X-Men movies.

Actually, when it was made public that the movie was going to be live-action with an all-white cast and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, most of the fans were not very demanding about it being made, and many were deeply offended. And unfortunately a lot of the blame is on Shyamalan because instead of keeping to the somewhat lighthearted atmosphere of the story, his directing apparently made it flat and uninteresting. Yes, the writers and the editors proved awful at their jobs too, but a movie is essentially the director's vision, and thus if it sucks, it is mostly the director's fault. Case AND point: Lady in the Water, The Village, and The Happening.
Also, I would be the first to point out that I still haven't seen the movie for myself yet, and this little comic I made was simply my reaction to reading Roger Ebert's review. It's just for the lulz.

Producers have alot more sway in what goes into a movie than directors do. Another case in point, Jon Peters.

it was bad, and the sprinkles of good/awesome were canceed out by the sprinkles of REALLY bad.

You should see it, if only for Yue. The scene at the spirit oasis, with the moon spirit (you know the one) is wonderful. And the end credits have amazing animation.

I have been looking all over to try and find a streamed version of it online, because unfortunately I'm super tight on money and this just doesn't qualify as important enough to me. Sadly, every downloading site wants my personal info. Boo :C
