thanks very much! The fruit ears were a genius idea on Yael's part - and it was super fun drawing them so juicy :3

Why is the rum always gone?
What an interesting idea that YaeltehSaharan-Waldo has come up with! I've seen characters that are a hybrid of two or more species, and I've also seen anthropomorphic aqueous beings, but I can honestly say I've never thought to combine animals and liquids in this manner.
She's got a gorgeous face, and I like her eye color. Of course, I recognize that as a pirate, there's much more to her than just her looks. The outfit, for the level of detail it contains, seems accurate enough.
I was about to comment that the lemon-slice ears looked more like oranges to me. But my computer monitor's to blame for that, as I'm typing this late at night and f.lux tones down the color temperature accordingly. Disabling that, I see they look more yellow after all.
One comment I do want to make is about her hair, since you mentioned you put a bit of effort into adding translucency. To be frank, I don't quite get a "rum" vibe from the hair, despite its color. The engineer in me looks at the smoothly-curved fringes of her hair (and the shadows/highlights that go with them), and I only see a highly viscous fluid. It looks more to me like someone has poured pancake syrup or motor oil on her head. Three suggestions for possible improvement have come to mind -- consider trying them separately or in combinations:
- increase the translucency (as I think many commercially-produced rums filter out cloudy impurities)
- use a thinner outline when drawing the hair so it doesn't appear to have such a thick "skin"
- add a greater gloss/sheen to the hair (think of the way sunlight glistens on open water)

Thanks as always for the comment, Intaglio!
Instinctively I wanna jump to the defence of my liquid hair, the line thickness is a result of the sketchy style and the smooth "viscous" looking shapes are my take on the aquakinesis ability of the liquidites (i was going for an anti-gravity look, like the way water blobs together)
However, your points about increasing the translucent effect, and adding some harder sheen I think are very valid - and in future drawings ( because i am totally gonna be drawing more of these ;3 ) I'll take this feedback on board.
And maybe i'll buy some more rum to give me reference...

I hadn't considered that you might have been going for a "liquid in microgravity" look. Thinking back to footage I've seen of astronauts toying with blobs of water, I now understand what you were trying to emulate.
If you draw more art like this, do you anticipate it being more of the same character, or other characters (of your own design, or otherwise)? Seeing other liquid/fruit/species combinations would be interesting. Of course, if you'd prefer keeping that secret, I understand.

Her hair (and tail) are rum - and her ears taste like lemon. You know, if you can manage to taste someone's ear without them thumping you
