Well, long time no post. I lost the internet for a while, but I was drawing all the while.Here's a pencil and paper drawing of a Valkryie gal. I like her hat, but not her belt-buckle. I was practicing metal, though, so I wasn't shooting for the sky for armor design.
Pencil, 15 minutes.

You really did a good job on the mirror-like polished surface of the metal. the pose is also lively and moves nicely. Good job on the details of the scale armor on her hand and legs. Cool hat. Crappy belt.

Ha! 15 minutes... I was about to give up drawing altogether.
Great job on the metal! I really need to practice drawing that... when I do, I'll probably use this as reference.
Really cool chainmail too... it looks so real I could touch it! But I won't, because that may creep her out. ^^

Yeah, I hate it when artists around DA say, "I painted/drew this picture in 3 hours, no ref, it was easy, I hardely gave it any effort, I am a God, I hate your family and hope they die, etc."

That's some amazing picture.
If i were to give some advanced critique to this picture, considering i could describe as expletive good...
It just the light source doesn't seem very definite... it kinda changes when you go from one piece of armour to the next. The other thing is the boob plates look like they're built for breast implants, which may or may not exist in your universe but i doubt a warrior would get those. The last thing is jsut that i'd like to see a background but that's not entirely necessary for just a character sketch.

I see what you mean by the light source. I kind of had some problems with the design of the armor as I was drawing the pic, so that by the time I had a design I liked, I already screwed up the shading.
Yeah, the boob plates are kind of big, but I figure it's relatively OK because she's a Valkryie and not a mono-boobed Amazon warrior!

Yeah that happens to me a lot. I try to get a good design going and then before i know it the shading i've done cant be erased wihtout taking out half the picture with it.

You did well on it. Quite near perfection, in my opinion, though there is always room for improvement. You seem to be alright with the metal, even if it was just practice. And the little bit of background you added it does it well; not distracting, but it does seem to make the drawing a little more complete.
