I drew a character for the Pump it Up ''character creation contest''. You can see Pump it up as a korean version of DDR

Fuku-Chan is a redesign of my OC copy ok chan who had no name yet but I named her Fuku-chan for this

Hey there, it's time for some ProjectComment
As a player of DDR/ITG for 15 years myself (woah), it's cool to see some PIU art! I never played much 5 panel myself, but my buddies were super into it. Anyways, it's about the art and your drawing so enough about dance games (for now lol).
I think you did a great job with this character. She's very cute and the pose is really dynamic. I especially like the way everything flows and moves in this picture - like she's really playing or doing some freestyle. The coloring is solid and the palette all works together. I mean, it's a pretty good illustration, that's for sure!
There are a few things you can improve on, but I think it all mostly boils down to perspective issues. The most obvious example would be her headphones. Based on the way her head is turned I think we see too much of the side on the earpiece. It should be rotated counter-clockwise in space and showing more of the white padding. Her left leg also feels like it's going back a little bit of a weird angle to me. Moving it a bit more straight back from her knee would feel more natural. If you stand up and try and do her pose you will find that holding your leg at the angle is kind of uncomfortable. It is an action shot though, so it could work for a brief moment in time. However, I don't think the way it is now follows the overall perspective established and we see too much of the side of the leg as with the headphones.
The other thing I would like to mention, again relating to perspective, is that some areas of the image look a little bit flat. This is most noticeable in her chest area around her collar. The middle part of that sailor uniform with the arrow looks like it sits flat on her body, but generally that portion sticks up a bit. The far side should be a bit a shorter and you could add a bit more shading here. I tried to find an example to show you what I mean, although the angle and perspective is different: www.pixiv.net/member_illust.ph… . Lastly, when doing details like all the trim on her uniform and skirt, don't be afraid to make the ends curve around move. Most of them simply hit the edges straight on and they don't feel as if they wrap around completely. I hope that makes sense in typing lol.
That's all I have to say for this one. Wonderful job and keep it up, you're on a good path.

I've been a 4panel player before I started playing PIU but I never got good at it ;w; I love PIU, I play it almost daily haha. PIU is still a rathe niche game, you don't see much fanart of it

I do agree on the critique points, especially on the perspective, it's so tough to get right! but very useful to hear these comments about the faults, I think these will help on improving my poses later on.
The AI-chan example is very clear, I know what you mean with it, I tended to make the collar in the past as well

I did not make it to the top 5 but the winners won really fairly
The likes didn't have that much of an impact in the end but I'm happy tbh, at least the winners did not win by sheer popularity 
Sure it's a shame I didn't win but I'm fine with losing fairly like I did now. Next year I'll try it again!

But I miiiight actually end up making art for the game either way, they said contestants might get a chance to become an outsourced designer for the game so I contacted them. They were interested in my art judging my entry but they are still going to look into the rest of my art and decide with that whether or not they will take me as a designer/artist, I'm really not sure how likely this will be ;o; so now it's just something the future will tell.

The pose is very dynamic and the colors work quite well! I also like the linework.
Her left arm is a bit on the long side and the headphones are a little off in terms of perspective.

Hello! This looks really nice, especially with the color pallete and style. The pose is really dynamic too, with the line of action leading the eye to the hand. The one odd thing with the pose is how the anatomy looks a bit off, with the arms being a bit too long, and the left leg facing front, where the body has a 3/4 view. The left foot should also be turned outward a bit, but none of the anatomy is overly distracting. The picture is really balanced, as the hair compensates for the leaning character, which was a great choice. With the folds, some of them make sense, and some don't seem to have a point of tension. The socks were my original critique, but looking at some stock photos show that they do tend to look like that, although they bunch a little bit lower on the leg. Lastly, the figure either has a slight bird eye perspective, or the top half is unnaturally bigger than the bottom half. Honestly though, these are nitpicks, and the picture as a whole looks very polished

This is so cute! I love the soft, muted colors you chose for this piece- it lends a soft, sweet feel to the image overall. The pose is really balanced, and so spunky and cute! You can really feel her energy. And the shading is really nicely done, as well- as someone who has trouble with shading, I’m VERY impressed by your skills. XD
