The colors, vibrant as in Bastion itself, stand out to the viewer on first glance. They are well-chosen, accurate and exciting. The red uplighting is done well. The only thing that could be used to make the image more dynamic is showing backlighting of the Kid's hair, a bright green of the scene behind. As well, to be very picky, shading the Kid's hair less would have brightened him up as a focal point, but it's only a subjective critique.
I would also either re-color the battering ram or reshape it. In the game it appears to be made out of bronze, with planes of vibrant reflected colors in the same saturation range. Also, the horns are curled but they are not filled in in the middle in the game. Right now in your drawing I think it's just a tad bland compared to everything else.
The motif of the square/curl is used excellently to unify the piece.
The Kid's pose is great except for his left hand. Coming towards the viewer, it should be a lot more foreshortened; right now it is drawn too small. Also, as we cannot see the right arm between his body and the battering ram, we must assume it is bent out of view. This assumption makes his right arm reach to his kneecaps if he were to hold them straight, a very strange proportion since then it is clear his left arm, drawn shorter, is intending to be foreshortened, but no change in size agrees with that.
The overall composition leads the eye at a kind of angle from the Kid to either side, directed by the ram and the squirt. I'm sure a real art critic would tell you this divides the image. I don't think there's a problem necessarily, but even doing something like brightening the Kid's hair would help him be the pillar supporting the piece.
Additionally, I feel like making the squirt come towards the viewer would make the composition even more exciting!
For vision I would say you only lack in small things like I mentioned.
For originality I give you full marks because you haven't copied the classic kid-sitting-on-floating-island pose.
Technique and impact just take blows because of the proportions.
Overall this is a beautifully colored work with a great unifying motif! Keep it up!
I could never color that well, and also, all of this is just my opinion, so take what you can and leave the rest.

I have great expectations of Supergiant Games. I hope they have great success but don't go down the road of playing it overly safe for the sake of dosh.
