It's a great picture, but aybe you should darken the background a little or remove the white slight halo around the characters

Not sure. Maybe draw characters that are less fabulous? Could be a self-solving issue.
(Alternatively try more mundane backgrounds or full scenes with these characters. Could be an interesting experiment.)
