XD I got done reading the manga and in the second to last book I could swear that Matsu said somthing like "your not the guy I fell in love with" and I had to re-read it a few times XD I was shocked to discover from that one scentence that Matsu actually did love Yaichi :3

^.^ well, he did love Yaichi, but yes :3 I'm glad that this pairing existed, it kinda makes sense, Matsu spends the most time with Yaichi, he's like Yaichi's spy.
I also remember in the last book, Yagi stated to Yaichi (Seinoshin) that maybe Masa could be his Yaichi <3 I love that line :3 as for Matsu... I'm not sure what would happen to him... i'll probally either fall in love with Ume or Otake.
but yes, once upon a time, they were a couple ^.^ at least that's what I imagine

Your welcome, and I am the same, none of my non-online friends like the fandom, but i'm so glad there are people who do, because even though the animation is a little wierd at times, the story and the characters are realistic as well as the way they interact with one another, and the scenery in the Anime and, yes, sometimes in the manga, is just stunning sometimes ^.^
This is not one of those series that relies on action scenes all the time, or dramatic plot twists, it's just a simple story about a shy samurai who gets tangled up with a group of kidnappers, and surprizingly, they end up becomeing his friends, and he helps each one (Matsu when he is kidnapped, Ume when Denshiki threatens Goinkyo and Masa stands up to him, and I'm not sure what he did to help Otake... but he helps Yaichi by learning more about his past and slowly helping him to get over it).
Also, in one of the later books we find out that the reason Yaichi made the Five Leaves was so that he could have a place were he felt he belonged

ok finally I'm here to answer! my gosh you wrote a lot and I like it! scenery is really stunning!Yeah! correct word that they are realistic, people got used to this fact tht if it's smurai anime that it should be heroic full of blood and fights...but reality of everyday life was like in this anime. Frienship theme there is so twisted and vague which got you into it even deeper than you've expected while watching.
I think that it was obnious that Ichi was reall lonelly lonely, I even felt it myself when I found out that he was kidnapped, or in the last episode we saw fear of a child in his eyes,someone real: not that cool all-know person, as we've seen before...And than the moment when he felt that he's not alone..it impressed me much... Of course you r not talking too much, actually I'm glad that you are talking that much)wow it's so cool that I now I met smb to discuss this fandom!
