Jarre seems so long ago. He was on TV a lot about 20 years ago or more.

have you heard about the floods we are having? in the south east.. about 50 km from us.. the tisza river is overflowing.. they are afraid the dams wont hold. people are being evacuated..... no dange for us here. still.. strange feeling....

I haven't watched the mΓ©teo for ages so I didn't know but Eva sent me a link about floods in Moravia where she was born. I think it happened last year too.
The weather men told us years ago that there would be more catastrophes.

This is beautiful. I like the shadows under the filaments. I can see the clouds of vapours entertwining. I have never heard this music but I will check it out. I like trance music. It is my drug.

I will indeed, dear Pat.
I really like trance music that was produced in India. I cannot give the names of any artists right off, but any techno music with a world beat flavour gets my vote. I also like Turkish folk music played on the baglama.
I like most kinds of music, actually. However, I cannot abide rap nor most hip hop stuff even though I like the beat, the words turn me off. Most rappers are just loud mouthed people talking loud about nothing over the loops they ripped off. And I do not like modern country either. But the classic stuff is great.
My favourite music has more than three chords in it and is likely to be grooved in other than 4/4 time. Most of the really pretty stuff is done in sharp or flat keys, too. Gotta love those black notes! The music I like best is the tunes for yesteryear played on a mighty theatre pipe organ by the masters such as George Wright. Nothing tops that!
I will check it out. Then I will let you know how it moved me...

like you.. i like lots of music.. including hip hop and rap.. not all of it.. SOME of it. i like the beat. i dont like opera, operettes and musicals.. nor country and western.. so we each have our different tastes.. thank god

I like all good music, but there is a common underlayment of principles that makes the music likeable to me. These are the things I look for:
1. It must have a good message in the lyric.
2. It must have well placed chords supporting a catchy melody.
3. It must be produced well.
4. It must be recorded well.
5. It must be mixed and post mastered well.
6. It must have hooks, the little minitunes that you go away humming.
I have noticed that over the years, content in music becomes weaker and less thought out. Current music does not have the intricate and hooky structures the older music has, as if modern society has run out of creative ideas. I keep hearing new music that sounds like old music with a twist. I hear very little original music these days. But every now and then, a band will come along and knock my socks off with their originality and hookage. Those are the records I buy.

how is your day going richard? i went to the market this morning and bought some more plants.. i just cannot resist..... 2 more watermelon plants.. 1 pattisson pumpkin.. 2 sugar melons - they look like longish cantaloupe and are green inside.... and i decided to get more tomatoes so i can make my own sauce..
