A very good and suitable title and a lovely contrast between the harshness of the thorns and the softness of the moon. Powerful too. It brings out , in me anyway, thoughts of certain aspects of World War 2.

good evening harry.. thank you for the comment .. would you care to elaborate on the WW2 aspect? i did have a working title for this prior to publishing.. natural barbed wire.. but that was just that.. a working title. still.. that element is in it.. and i wonder if it is that which brings out these associations?

It was a sombre thought, really and I didn't go into detail as I didn't want to put a shadow of gloom on a lovely picture. I remember reading the memoirs of a Jew who had been in a concentration camp and who later painted pictures of his captivity. There was one picture of a man looking out through the barbed wire. The author said it was impossible to imagine the thoughts that a person in those traumatic circumstances had when looking out and seeing a normal and forever inaccessible world going on as normal and, apparently unaware, of the other side of the wire.I think art says different things to people.

yes it does.. yet all agree that sehnsucht and longing are a fitting title. the longing of the prisoner for freedom.. of the soldier in the trenches to be with his family.. it moves many people and of course as an artist i am happy about this reaction.

no it is not. because sehnsucht has longing in it.. but also search.. and also addiction.. here the german language is a lot more.. to the differenciated and that is why i chose the german word.. and not the english.
