Here’s some concept art of that “weird species that everyone thought was extinct”.
The cute red fat boy is the “leader” of them, one of the rare ancient ones, and he’s quuuiiite big boy, he’s 420 cm tall. The blue one is one of the ancients as well, and she’s a girl.
She stands tall at 315 cm. The purple boy is one of the common, regular ones, and he goes to the smaller cast of the species, being “only” 204 cm tall.
Their height always depends on the skull they have as a head.
The ancients are rare, and there’s only a handful of them left. An easy way to recognize an ancient is that all of them has a dinosaur skull and they’re BIG.
The regular ones have common skulls as heads, e.g. wolf, bear, cat, boar, etc.
They all have the ability to grow long, big spikes from their backs, so called “hedgehog-ability”.
They all have hard “scaly” tongues.
The glow that’s surrounding their bodies is the very element that keeps them alive. This glow is usually a shocking neon-color, and usually somehow opposite color
of the fur they have (e.g. blue or green glow against red fur). The glow’s and the pupil’s color changes only when they get aggressive.

The purple boy (Xur'dar, aka "Xully") is the first one that people of OW saw. He’s one of ancient species of Other World that thought to be extinct already.
Turns out they’ve been living underground for centuries, and now this guy decided to pop up on surface to see what’s going on.
This species don’t normally wear clothes, so this guy went to look for free clothes from a local recycling store, where they give out clothes etc
for free for people who don’t have enough money to buy stuff. This shirt was the only one big enough for him, and he doesn’t even understand what the word means.
It suits him tho!
