Description First of two christmas present pictures I made for some of my fellow NaNoers. ^_^ This here's Marusaia, from my friend Michael's novel he did for the month-long writing marathon. Pretty satisfied with it, even though the lines are kinda wonky (they just always are, I'm beginning to just expect it...), I'm pretty happy with her pose and all. And I'm glad I got the color of her hair right. ^_^

No idea what I'm talking about? Go here: [link]

Art belongs to ME!
Character belongs to Michael!!

Yay, I have art for one of my characters! We've probably had this discussion before, but I felt like putting my comments up here anyway... especially since I've FINALLY GOT A DEVART ACCOUNT! WOOT! XD

Okay, so the picture... I really liked how you set up that sepiatone photo of a Japanese castle as the background, it totally fits the story's setting and style. The character's pose and clothes are fitting too, along with her general appearance. It looks like I managed to communicate the nature of Marusaia. She's a bit of what the Japanese call an otenba... a wild, athletic tomboy. And yet she has an attractive side too...

Heh, I just read the first volume of Love Hina, and I'd have to say that, if anything, Marusaia as a character is like a blend between Naru and Motoko, which is funny since your style seems heavily influenced by Ken Akamatsu. This picture caught Marusaia in a Naru moment... or more accurately a "cute Naru" moment. I might have to ask you to draw a picture of her when she's in her "scary Naru" or "Motoko" moments... yeah, she gets to be a badass sometimes... ^o^

I'm really happy to see this up! And I know I've told you this before, but you got the hair right! Like I said in her character description: "Hair color: RED. Extremely red. Not orange, not auburn, RED. Should be somewhere between the color of blood and the color of flame." You drew her in a different style than I originally imagined her in, but that was before I fell into my current Love Hina obsession... ^_^

This is really gratifying to see~! Thanks! [link]
