Description I met this guy in Harajuku, the "goth" district of Tokyo.

Note the following things:

* Those are not "peace" symbols he's making with his hands; it's just something Japanese people do for the camera
* He has a white contact in his left eye
* Yes, that is a McDonald's in the background

Actually, there is a Harajuku Street in Harajuku. It's across from Takeshita Dori. The shops down that way are still punk/goth but they're more expensive. I miss Harajuku. I can't wait to return to Japan.

Well, most of Harajuku, which is a district, not a street, is actually high-scale fashion. You want Takeshita-dori, a street in Harajuku, which is where I took that picture.

actually, i live in china, and the city that i live in, kaifeng, which has 4.6 million people, doesn't seem to have a mcdonalds. (if it does, i just haven't found it yet, because it's not in the downtown where i would expect it to be). but i haven't been here long. and we DO have a kfc.
