What was that about a judge winning all three prizes? I could be wrong, but it sounds like that "contest" was rigged bad.

Yes. One of the judges (who was "drafted" into judging by the other judges) won all 3 of the prizes.
He wasn't too sure about that winning thing either.
Β
yes, we're not to sure about the whole judging bit.
AΒ 'democracy of One' apparently.

Sounds like grounds for a recall vote, then.
It's not always a bad thing for the judge to participate in the contest he's overseeing, but for the judges to take all three prizes... not cool.

No, One judge took all 3.
which is what made it suspicious.
there's a kickback somewhere coming.
(probably an obscure model kit, but a kickback somewhere...)
Something's going on. I just don't think our winner knows what it is however.

I think it looks awesome. Did you paint on the reflection on its eyes or was that just the lights?Β

I wish I would have won though
It's certain an oddity in both scale & subject.
(the scale is listed as either 1/4th, 1/5th, 16th, 1/7th, or 1/8th...depending on the kit's version.)

Yes.
--C'mon!Β One of the judges wins all 3?!?Β A wee bit of impropriety there me thinks.
Besides, he liked this lil' guy too.

Well his scratchbuilt narco-sub should have won the (non-prize) Model of the Month for the last meeting...
(I thought it actually had! That's the one they were talking all about, not mine.)

That doesn't mean you should get gipped out of a prize this time.Β

A lot of us felt that way. There were other more deserving models there too.
More unusual than a old constellation airplane atΒ 1/150th scale.
Even the 1/39th scale Wright Flyer was better detailed.

It was an "Odd Scale" contest. --Models that were in an odd scale.
I haven't gotten to the Godzilla models yet. I'm waiting for some money to buy proper paints for those.
(And a good/appropiate contest to spur me on.
I only have a limited supply of Zilly models, y'know. )
