Description

Henry was something you called a foodie. He loved food with a passion, and would always go to new places to try food or just to be constantly eating. Henry was lucky and had a really high metabolism and also constantly worked out at the gym so that way he could maintain a healthy body weight. He always had a stash of his favorite snack foods which he kept hidden so other people couldn’t find it. Henry’s roommate Matt never minded Henry’s food habits but was always perturbed about how Henry got defensive over his secret stash.

Examples of this are when Matt ran out of snacks late at night and asked Henry if he could have something from his stash. Matt then offered to get him that same snack from the store the next day to replenish the coveted secret supply. Henry being selfish about his snacks said no and got angry with Matt even though Henry had no intentions of eating that specific food that evening. This happened a couple of times and after a while, Matt just stopped asking or mentioning the stash.

A couple of months later, Henry and Matt installed the new shrinking alarm system to protect their apartment. One day, Henry got the brilliant idea to shrink himself with the alarm system so that way his snacks would be ginormous. He wanted the ultimate food experience. So when Matt was out of the house Henry decided to open a bag of potato chips and shrink himself. He would just need to wait for Matt to leave.

Henry was sitting on the couch when Matt came out of his room in gym clothes and with a bag slung over his shoulder. “Hey Henry, I am going to the gym want to tag along?”

“No thanks,” Henry replied. “I am just going to stay here and chill. I worked out this morning.” Henry did not work out and wanted to go with his roommate but needed the window of time without him to try out his plan.

“Okay then. See you later,” Matt said as he closed the door and left for the gym.

After waiting a couple of minutes to be certain Matt wouldn’t come back he hatched his plan. He went into his room and grabbed a bag of potato chips. He opened them and looked inside at the golden salty treats just waiting for him to join them in the bag. He then set them on the floor and walked over to the security system, He then set it off and closed his eyes as he felt himself shrinking.

When Henry opened his eyes he was amazed at the world he saw. Everything was huge and looked like it towered over him. After looking at the room for a couple of seconds he remembered why he was here, the chips. He looked over at the bag of chips on the floor. To him, it looked like the cave of wonders beckoning him to go inside. He ran as fast as he could to the bag. When he got there he started to climb the foil outside. He was surprised at how thick it was at this size compared to when he was his normal height. Once he got up he tried standing but slipped and fell into the bag due to the oils of the chips.

Henry then stood up and took in his surroundings in the chip bag. The chips ranged from about chest height to easily about 8ft tall compared to his body. The salty and oily air inside the bag filled his senses. He couldn’t wait anymore and dug into a chip right next to him. It was a little hard to bite into the thick chip but he was able to break off a piece and start gnawing on it. At his size, each bit had a different taste due to the giant grains of salt and other seasonings. He was truly in foodie heaven.

What Henry didn’t realize is that when he set off the alarm a notification was sent to his phone but also Matts. Matt was at the gym about halfway through his workout when he got the notification about the alarm and texted Henry asking what happened. After waiting a couple of minutes with no response Matt stopped his workout and headed home.

Henry was barely done with his first portion when he heard the door open. Loud footsteps shook the ground as the figure walked around the room. Henry stood still in fear. When the footsteps stoped he quickly panicked and was trying to think of something to do when he felt the ground he was standing on lift into the air and into a vertical position. As the bag was lifted Henry started to fall as he looked up and saw Matt’s giant face staring at him. Henry braced himself as the other chips around him fell on top of his as he fell to the bottom of the bag.

Dazed and confused Henry sat and watched as Matt’s giant fingers grabbed handful after handful of chips left the top of the bag. Loud crunches and chewing were heard in the distance. “That idiot is eating my food. He knows how I feel about my snacks.” He yelled gaining no response but another handful of chips being lifted. Pouting like a child Henry sat down at the bottom of the bag. He finally realized the gravity of his situation when Matt grabbed the chip right next to him. It was about the same size as he was and like all the others was lifted out and tossed into Matt’s giant mouth. “I have to get out of here before I get eaten like that chip.” Henry thought as he tried to climb the bag. It was no use as the oils from the chip made the foil inside slippery and impossible to climb. The only thing to climb were the chips themselves.

Little Henry started to climb and dodge the giant hand grabbing chip after chip. There were a couple of close calls, he was making progress. Nevertheless, there were only so many chips in the bag and Henry could only get so high. When he got to the highest one in the bag he was Met with Matt's giant hand hovering over him and grabbing the very chip he was on.

Henry was lifted out of the bag and was met with Matt’s giant face. Like the scene in Honey, I shrunk the kids. Matt tried yelling and screaming to get Matt’s attention as he was brought closer and closer to the gaping maw that was going to eat him. Matt’s uncaring face got closer and closer and Henry felt Matt’s warm breath wash over him. It smelled like the very potato chip he was on. He could see the pink monster-like tongue and the rows of white teeth that would grind him and the chip into a paste. Only for that paste to be sent down the dark throat to be sent into his waiting stomach. The chip was tossed in Matt’s mouth and Henry was put in darkness as Matt started chewing and ultimately swallowed.

Matt got home from the gym as fast as he could. Sweating from running up the steps to his apartment he opened the door and realized no one was home. He checked all the rooms and no one was there. Nothing was missing and nothing was wrong. Going back into the main room he took off his shirt and noticed a bag of Henry’s chips on the ground. With a mischievous grin on his face, he picked up the bag of chips and sat down on the couch.

Matt then continued to eat the whole bag of chips content with his snack and was finally happy he was able to eat some of Henry’s snacks. His stomach then rumbled and a huge burp erupted out of his mouth. “Ah, that tasted like potato chips.” He said as he patted his stomach and then settled down for a nap unaware that his roommate was being digested like the food he loved so much ending his ultimate food experience.
