Airbrush painting from a photo of the incredibly, sickeningly beautiful Adriana Lima.Another deviant uploaded an Adriana wallpaper last night, and it reminded me that I've been wanting to do a painting of her for a while.
I worked a little differently than I normally do. I only used the hard-edged brushes, and I worked with higher opacity brushes than usual. This was more of a technical experiment than a creative one. I'm generally pleased with the way this turned out. I did a step-by-step collage kind of thing just for the fun of it.
Technical: Photoshop 6.0. Wacom. Airbrush (hard edge brushes) and eraser only. Working size is 600x600. No tracing, paintovers, or filters.

Wow!! I thought it was a photograph when I saw the thumbnail! It looks just like her! Amazing color, highlights, shading! Her lips, hair and eyes are so well drawn! I also love the way you shaded the arms.. The detail on her shirt straps and the necklace.. It looks so real!! GREAT work!!!!

Your skill together with the subject and the amount of detail is completely breathtaking. One of the best and most detailed airbrushed I've seen around here (but that would count for most of your gallery), even if the hair isn't as flawless as the classic bloody mary pick... but... damn how I would like to be able to paint like you do.
I'll sure go through all of your gallery more closely once or twice when I have more time...!

Stop making good artwork and forcing me to type nice words. I'm all out of witty anecdotes, my fingers are sore and I have to go to the bathroom. GOD, that'll teach me to ever take a vacation again. Amazing, I love all of the detail in this.
I would say its photo-realistic except I think its a little past that, you captured a feeling very well in this too, which I supose it what most artists are trying to do.
the only little thing I would suggest would be to put a small light reflection in her eyes, I find when doing that it brings more life to the piece..
I may be wrong, but in any case this it fantastic and a fav.

How the hell...?! I saw the step-by-step but I still can't believe it. I copied the reference photo, cropped it, resized it, selected a range of dark tones with the magic wand and pasted them over your painting and they aligned EXACTLY except for the curve of the dress across the back and some hair. How the hell do you do that without tracing? I'm dumbfounded. I suspect you are really just a talented robot or perhaps some sort of super alien
- there's no other explanation for that sort of precision. I was excited about trying to become inspired to paint again then I come across this intimidating display. Sheesh! Thanks a heap.
