Pharrell Williams from the Neptunes/N.E.R.D. When I'm in a lull, it helps to draw some eyecandy. I really like the way this turned out. Especially the face, the strokes there free and loose, without being unrefined . It's so hard for me to get that to happen, I think I usually try too hard.Drawn in Opencanvas with some retouches to his arm and hand in Painter7. The photo I looked at for reference is from the cover of the June issue of the The Source magazine. I'm not too fond of how the hand turned out, but I couldn't fix it without it looking overworked. And again, the there is some pixelation in the background. I don't know why that keeps happening.

ohhh actually the hand was the very first thing that caught my eyes...and I said...damn!!! I like the way it turned out...especially cause hands are sooo hard to draw.

Wow the way you used your strokes here is truly stunning. I love the lighting. I can see what you mean about you had to stop painting on the hand.. it would have become too detailed be out of step with the style you were aiming for. Great work.

Your portraits always look amazing.. I keep having that problem too with digital pieces. When I upload it to DA the colors get distorted and it looks pixelated, but it looks fine when I open it in photoshop. I think the hand looks fine also
