Interesting. So what is this AU about?
From what I see, I think it's about:
After Dipper lost Mabel's truth, they began fighting. Mabel wanted to stop this so maybe she somehow tried to time travel to fix it all. Mabel ends up travelling farther than expected and the time machine may have broke so she couldn't travel back. She was now lost in a different decade. She then met Stanford and blah.....

You confused me for a sec there because you said Stanford and it took me a minute to try and decipher which Stan you were talking about.
Either one of them could be Stanford at this point. My bets are on the Author.
