I'm not familiar with the world of Zelda, but I do notice that this "fairy in a bottle" concept is pretty popular. What confused me was that the "fairy" was always a ball with wings inside a miniature glass bottle...I searched up fairies for Legend of Zelda, and indeed there are many that are simply shiny spheres with wings lol. HOWEVER there are plenty of human fairies out there too! Personally I think that making a ball with wings is kind of boring, so I decided to attempt a human fairy instead. The human fairies of Zelda are so much cuter than a ball with wings, if you ask me xD Too bad I can't replicate them perfectly. But I tried ^^

I think the ball with wings thing isn't that they aren't you know...normal fairies...I think it's just that the fairy is so glowy you can't see her form, and so she looks like a ball of light. At least that's how I've always interpreted what I saw on screen.

That is a tiny bottle o.o but ya i actually like the little fairy! But I also find in the games the little ball fairies are adorable.

I think the Legend of Zelda games have the glowing balls with wings as the faeries because 1) they're much easier to make look right as they move around in gameplay. And secondly, they're showing the aura of light around the faery because they're so small compared to Link, the character you play as. The only humanoid faeries I recall having seen whilst playing are the 'great' faeries. These are much bigger than Link, so you can see their true form. They are also always surrounded by light.
I always assumed that the tiny faeries were humanoid as well, but so small that their light conceals them!

The humanoids are much more interesting to look at! Though a glowy ball with beautiful wings could be interesting!
