Long time no art, hehe!

Haven't really drawn anything in a long time due to... mostly technical difficulties? I got a new computer, so I haven't had access to my old familiar art software (for editing purposes), and my printer has been... giving me headaches. Between that and a mix of art block and being more dedicated to writing lately, I haven't really drawn or colored anything in a while!

I recently got new ink for my printer, so I decided to do something for practice today. I found these free lines by Sunima and decided they looked perfect for coloring! I've recently been developing a new story with some familiar characters... as well as new ones, too! This is one of the new characters--Lirian, Lord of the Seas and King of the Merfolk.

He is a divine hippocampus, one of a handful of guardians tasked with overseeing a part of the natural world--in his case, the oceans. Though originally tasked with watching over mortals, time has made him jaded and bitter against them. Instead, he favors his own created children, the merfolk. He is known to be a talented shapeshifter, and enjoys spending time as a merman himself. He can also take a human form if needed, though he rarely sees the need for it.

I'm still getting the hang of the scan function for my printer (I... honestly find it very limited and annoying to use), so I'm not sure if the colors look ideal. But they look close enough to what I intended, so you can see what his design is. :3 He has silver hair/mane with aqua-green streaks, a white coat, and aqua green fins streaked with gold.

I am super grateful to Sunima for providing the free lineart, and I hope you all enjoy my new character! I hope to do more with him in the future~
