i'm just sayin, if i ever did anything with the nutcracker story, i'd draw from the book version. i'd do something with the Clara/Marie thing. they'd be sisters, Marie being the one spirited away to rule the land of dolls as a child, leaving behind her family to wonder what had happened to her. Drosselmeyer would be the meddling asshole he is in the book, the nutcracker being his nephew would be more important.

y'know, not just another rehash of the tim burton alice in wonderland movies.

i'd cast helen mirren as the rat queen, not...mother ginger.

would def 10/10 cast morgan freeman as drosselmeyer tho
