“You ever think about giving yourself a last name?”

Sweet Pea looked over at Atlas, considering. She shrugged, looking back down at little Jellybean in her lap. He babbled up at her and she smiled.

“I already have two names. Seems like it’d get kinda… crowded, you know?”

Atlas pondered, scratching the tiny tuft of hair on his chin. “I guess so. Shame, ‘Sweet’ would kind of work as a last name too.”

“…Sweet Pea Sweet?” She quirked a brow.

“Well, not for you, duh,” he took a swipe at her antennae and she leaned out of the way, laughing. “What about little man here?”

He pointed at Jellybean, who leaned away. He was still unsure about ‘Uncle Atlas.’

“Jellybean Sweet, isn’t that cute?” Atlas prodded.

Sweet Pea hummed, not offering an opinion either way. “Well, I guess when he’s older he can decide on his own what he wants to be called.”

She tickled his fluffy little tummy, giggling fondly when he started to laugh.

“Or what about the big man?” Atlas waggled his eyebrows. “Licorice Sweet?”

Pea rolled her eyes, but an amused smile played on her lips. “You need to stop trying to give people names they didn’t ask for.”

Atlas clicked his tongue, somewhat annoyed she wasn’t playing along. “Tsk. I can’t believe you don’t want your own family to have your name. Your own son.”

“Alright, alright. What would you want your last name to be?” Pea inquired and looked at him expectantly. Jellybean glanced from his mother to Atlas, not sure what was happening but he was invested anyhow.

Atlas thought for a moment. “I don’t really know. Something cool, though. Something awesome-“

“Atlas Grace?” Pea teased, smirking playfully.

Color sprung immediately to Atlas’s cheeks and he looked at her before turning away and going back to his sketching.

“This conversation is over,” he grumbled, Pea’s laughter at his expense burning in his ears.
