Portrait study ft. markiplier, painted in PS, ~11 hours
I wanted to paint a quick portrait just for practice. I chose to draw Mark because I felt like I wouldn’t be able to put as much emotion into it if I just drew a random model. As I began thinking about what sort of expression I wanted on him, I remembered a video he uploaded recently - “i was lost”. In it, he expressed many of the feelings that I’ve been experiencing these past few months, even years, with artist’s block. It’s only been in the past couple weeks that I’ve felt my passion for art come back, and I wanted to commemorate that. This piece isn’t perfect, but I hope it expresses the feeling of pure joy that inspiration brings.
