Description THREE.

'I'm from London, the suburbs'

'Mom and dad are - what's that word - muggles! Can you imagine their faces when they saw their toddler levitating the fruitbowl in the dining room?'

'Millions of candles, floating below a starry sky! Magic is really beautiful.'

'Have you seen the boys in our year? Not at all bad, and the Gryffindors are some of the most dreamy -'

Five girls sat on five four-poster beds in the vast, cozy Gryffindor dormitory; five strangers that, ironically, had an awful lot to catch up on. They surveyed each other with extreme attention. Each tried to take in every detail about the others that was presented to them, either in-between the chatter or just by looking intently around. So much as this they were to know, for now:

Lily Evans was just lovely; she had thick, dark red hair reaching the middle of her back, which contrasted strongly with almond-shaped, bright green eyes that seemed amused and in awe at everything she rested her sight upon. She was, in one word, marveled. To her right was to sleep (though not for the seven years of their stay at Hogwarts) a blonde girl named Marian Gibbon. From a wizarding family, she was inifinitesimally less amazed by Hogwarts, but still looked quite pleased with the outcome of her first evening there. Marian combed her hair idly as she listened to everyone's stories, her round face poking out through the clear yellow locks every now and then.

Sprawled on the bed facing Marian's, propped up on one elbow, Amanda Dumbledore definitely needed to comb her hair more than she did. She was a small girl with a bright face and big blue eyes. Her thick pink lips were twisted into a smile as she chattered loudly with her future friends. The locks of shoulder-length, wavy chestnut hair, messy but uncanningly shiny on top of her head, constantly got into her face, an attack to which she responded by blowing it off nonchalantly every now and then. She was, of course, a pure-blood, and had caused quite a stir among her roommates even though she had clarified she was only very distant relatives with the Headmaster.

Tamasine Ackerley, who slept on Lily's right, was all freckles. She sat at the edge of her bed excitedly, legs dangling off and occasionally brushing her trunk, which rested at the foot of the four-poster. She didn't say much, but listened a lot instead. All they were to find out about her that night was that her father was a wizard, but her mum was muggle, and she still found the clash of worlds amusing. She also giggled quite a lot. Giggling alongside her was the last member of the first year Gryffindor girls, Mary MacDonald, with golden brown hair and really dark eyes framed with thick eyelashes. The glee in her face mimicked that of Lily's, for she had been raised in the non-magical world too, away from fantastic tales of the Hogwarts castle that could warn her of the wonders it concealed.

'I think we're going to get along,' Tamasine chirped cheerfully. She was right - or at least a bit.

And they all went to bed in agreement.

-

'What are you thinking?'

James looked away from the tower window, shaking his head slightly. 'How long it would take to dive down from here on a broom and get to the ground.'

Sirius Black smiled at him from the four-poster to his right. James had located his own trunk at the foot of the bed closest to the largest window in the room.

'Well,' he considered, 'we'll just have to try tomorrow to find out, won't we?'

A small chubby boy that had chosen a bed facing theirs chuckled. His name was Peter Pettigrew, and if they had learnt a little about him through dinner, it was that he enjoyed laughing with their jokes a lot more than coming up with the jokes himself, apparently. The Sorting Hat had taken a long time deciding were to place him, too. He'd sat on the stool right before James' name was called, and frankly, from the looks on the faces of the Gryffindors, none of them had quite expected him to end up there.

Sirius glanced at the remaining four-poster. Their fourth classmate, Remus Lupin, lay with his head propped up by a pillow, a book in his hands, attempting to read but often distracted by Sirius and James' noisy talk. He didn't seem too bothered about it, though. James followed Sirius' stare; Remus looked nothing like them both. The trunk at the foot of his bed was almost falling apart, crooked and unpolished, particularly unceremonious beside Sirius' brand new one, engraved with his family crest in what was apparently silver.

Remus Lupin met James' eye. 'What do you say, Remus?' he asked, grinning, 'will you try with us?'

He seemed surprised at this direct reference to him, as if it didn't happen to him often. Remus grinned; he looked way too tired for an eleven year-old. 'as long as I'm not the one cracking my neck against the ground.'

James and Sirius' faces lit up, and the other two smiled with them.

Episode three I'm sorry I didn't draw the boys! I figured it would be better if I introduced the girls in the drawing, since we already know what the Marauders look like.

As usual, comments are lovely!

Lovely! I like the looks of all the girls. You've really given them there own personal thing.
And a question, was there a fifth boy in the boys year, or was there just the four marauders?

Thank you I don't think there's canon evidence that suggests a fifth boy in their year; I've always imagined the Marauders as being the only Gryffindor boys in their year. Besides, I think it unlikely that the first years are evenly distributed year after year, so in my headcanon it's just the four of them

Yeah, I always imagine them as just four in that year as well, and I strongly believe that they are unevenly numbers of students in the diffrent years and houses.

Yup! I even had Mands' birthday on 30th January before Deathly Hallows came out, because I thought hey, I don't share birthdays with any Harry Potter character anyway, and then DH came out and I was so pleasantly surprised! One of the most important characters too! This is all filed under "Irrelevant things I care way too much about" , of course.

Mands is actually supposed to be 'plainer' in her younger years. I'm kind of failing at this; she's supposed to have a fat mouth and she has the boys call her fishlips behind her back. But then I can't help drawing them all Disney-y in their younger years so everything ends up looking cute. But oh well.
