I wanted to give her an Elvish name but I couldn't find one that suited her.(You get that she's an elf right?)
No additional references used other then the photo provided by Linda, because if there's some web site with photo references of elf ears out there I missed it. XP
But that was one of the most enjoyable things about working on this the chance to get creative with the models features.
Changes made, torso lengthened, head completed, eyes extended and exaggerated, ears, hair completed and braid added.
Iβm 80% happy with the vexel, 60% happy with the title and background.

One thing about Mirabel which is consistant in her vexels is her technical ability and this is no exception. A wonderfully executed vexel portrait.
I just adore the precise alignment of the style in which she does hair and the arrangement of her skin shading layers in this piece.
I'm getting an overall theme of maybe a pixie or some sort of wooden goddess, which the background brings out further.
The portrait has so much going on but not in a bad way... it's the fine details again... the earrings, the eyes, the lips and how wonderfully vexelled are those ears?!
Often a hard thing to vexel, awkward shadows on a portrait and I think Mirabel has done this very well... so much so I didn't even notice there was an "awkward" shadow it's so beautifully done and very well mastered.

Anyway, back to your vexel:
I love the eyes very much, they really draw my attention! The skin looks very soft and "touchable" and really nice around the lips and nose! And as always... you're so good at hair!!
I love the idea you had and you really managed to work things out! just WOW!

Thanks Sarah, I use the pen tool, paintshop pro, and a well of patience.
I still have yet to do an animal I'm sure it would be hard.
many vexels use photo references but they are 100% digtal art.
this was my reference as you can see it looks like her but I had to add a lot too it and the photo is not a part of the final product [link]
