I had it in rough colors lying around in a folder for a very long time. It made me sad that I didn't finish it, because Black Chess Queen is one of my characters that I like the most. I saw her in a dream once, I've almost forgot it, but her look got stuck in my head.Anyway, this is a new version of . This time I was inspired by "A Girl With A Pearl Earring" painting.

I've been keeping your deviation in my inbox for a few days now, because I wanted to write not a critique, but a word of good upon it
You have learned and evolved so much from whence we met, it's simply astonishing and the best proof of that are the eyes. They are absolutely gorgeous and real and they seem to capture you in a pool of cold water, as their colour is :3 The eye shadow really enhances their contour and gives her the sense of a true queen, as if she actually existed in the past.
Her skin is really beautifully defined and the texture of it makes her feel so soft and smooth, though I believe that if I were to dare that, she would turn me into a chess piece xD
The blur effect on the edges give her the sense that she is passing us by and only for a moment she rewards us with a glimpse of her elegant and bewildering figure, the figure of royalty.
Her lips though... I can't say I fancy bright red lips all that much, seeing as I hardly do them myself on the drawings I make. But whenever you change the natural colour of the skin (lips) you really achieve a wonderful balance between all the facial traits, thus not making the lips stand out like Angelina Jolie xD In other words the vividness of the lips does not distract from the eyes, which are an essential focus point, for me at least
Though I would have to say that those pearls do not look all that merged, mostly because they do not have the reflections of the environment on them, in this case, the hair and the cloak. And is it me or you remembered the hints from my tutorial, because the shine distribution looks really similar to mine

I LOVE her and this painting. It's got such a dark gothic beauty feel to it. Her lips look really great, the glossy metallic color is perfect. Oh goodness and those eyebrows.
