Eleven days after Halloween late, I know, but this wasn't originally a Halloween-themed drawing, despite its horrid description and looks.He -- or she -- is actually from a list of monsters intended for a much bigger brain-child of mine. But I won't go into much details about it. I essentially wanted to make my rendition of the Coeurl look less like a cat and more like a living nightmare of some sort.
And no, it's not the Coeurl from the Final Fantasy series, it's from the original sci-fi short story "The Black Destroyer." Though D'n'D took it as part of their monsters for the game.
It's not the world's greatest render, but I did my best under circumstances that is... ART

I feel pretty nerdy for recognising it as the thing from Baldur's Gate.
Since it spent half its time invisible, and was always shown from an annoying top-down perspective, it's nice to see a clear interpretation of it.
Is it possible to read The Black Destroyer online? It sounds interesting.

I'm not sure, I'd be surprised, though. It was written in the 20s or 30s, so it's either public domain or still hanging by a threat on the rights. I was able to read it because Mom lent me a sci-fi anthology of collected short stories.
I read it. Well, tried. I have a hard time reading depending on the author's style, and that man's style was difficult.

I never really had a problem with them- I actually quite liked the minor puzzle element to that fight.
Ah- I had a quick search on Google and it didn't turn up anywhere obvious, at least. I wondered if you'd read it online yourself.

Well, general hack-n-slash get boring for me really fast. My sis is more into that game, and on occasion, I'll co-op with her.

Never played those, but if I could see the original art concepts for those games, maybe I can re-do it in that image for a better scare. After all, this is done my style, which is intentional for what I have in mind.
