Description Man, I hate it when I go overboard on someone else's lineart when I can't do the same with my own artwork

To those of you who are new to this (or have amnesia), this is :iconVulpineVampires:'s fan character, Jarred, son of Jak and Ashleigh (V-V's Lombax Wastelander fan character). V-V at one time was crazy over centaurs and was doodling like crazy, and this showed up. I loved it so much (being a Lombax fan and partial centaur fan), I offered to color it for her.

That was over a year ago

But for the past several weekends, I was tempted to see the thing FINISHED; tired of having it sit on my desktop as a sketch when it was screaming to get colored. I went crazy -- in an orderly fashion when I use PSCS2 -- and came up with this by the end of my studio-sitting shift yesterday. I didn't care if the anatomy looked a bit 'odd' even to my ever unsatisfied mother when it comes to centaur anatomy Original sketch can be found here: [link]

I'm not much into Jarred as I was back then, but I still love the idea of a lombaxtaur. And I just adore V-V's style in anthropomorphic characters, I just want to smother her to death with praises and admiration I hope she can see this sometime soon, but she's way busy with her academics right now (they have a very prestigious academic system in Brunei, her home country, and it eats up a lot of her time most of the year)

So, this be a dedication to *VulpineVampiress and her awesomeness she represent in my eyes.

Critique Discouraged (since DA doesn't seem to indicate it anyway else)

Program used: Photoshop CS2
Jarred (C) *VulpineVampiress
Lombax Species (C) Insomniac Games/SCEA

My goodness Rumple-chan-sama!! You made me feel so fluffy and warm on the inside...I'm really flattered, and thank you very very very much for such high words! I've never been spoken of like that before...so yeah, I'm blushin like crazy...hehehe~!

JARRED!!! My baby lombax-boi!!!! X3 He is SOOO CUTE! You made his eyes gleam so perfectly...he looks just like his father! The background is just lovely...I can so imagine Jarred running around Veldin in this centaur form, free, reckless and wild! I adore the soft tones of dark stripes on his body, and how he looks so relaxed just sitting there looking at the stars of his true homeland ^.^

I dunno bout you....but I still am captivated by those eyes. So...SHINY! Like SAPPHIRE! *glomps Jarred in all his uber-lovingly cuteness HOMG*

*nibbles his cute ears* X3

Thank you thank you so much for it all, Rumple-Chan! You are teh awesum ^^

Hee hee! You went all out on this didn't you! I love the inking job here, the lightening of it really helps with the lighting. The shading is very nice too, even though there is only a minimal amount you were still able to convey a good sense of depth with it. And, of course, I'm just in love with the sky. It reminds me of the Sexy Ratchet Lommbax pic you did a while ago.

A looong while ago, I might add I wanted to try something a little different from it, but warm colors associated with desert lanscapes are such beautiful sights for me This also happens to be my very first digital image to ink, I might add; I've several others inked via PSCS2 for practice (thanks to Jakxter's permission to some of her artwork).

Well, the warm colors go very well with each other, nice. I couldn't tell that this was your first time inking in PSCS2, It is very good!

The lighting, landscape, and sky are gorgeous, to say nothing of the patterns on the Lobaxtaur's fur. Kudos!

That is so adorable...! I remember this sketch. The colouring is so superb and you've captured the lighting brilliantly! A true feeling of Veldin's atmosphere can be felt here aswell. Yes, much love to the Vulpine *love*. He looks so mighty peaceful here too, gazing at that gorgeous landscape you've produced. Those stars are so pretty.

I think I got that landscape inspiration from you though I wanted to keep it simple-like, since I like the style I attempted in one of my previous renderings of Veldin

Thanks much!

:+

Whyyyy must people be inspired by my cruddy landscapes? D:. Never noticed it was me who inspired you, it must be your originality of how you've done it.
It's lovely .

You think your landscapes are cruddy? I didn't think that way... I dun think And I did try to make it as original as possibel. (Not one to put in too much details in a background landscape, anyway)
