Yeah, whenever I look back at my sketches, I notice that they have a lot more life to them than my finished products. Urgh. =0 Probably because you can see some of the process of the drawing, I think.

maybe it depends from the outlines! like.. when you make the outlines usually they turn to be all of the same size, while in the sketch thet're thicker in some parts and such xD maybe you could try outlining freehand? ^^

ahah really? xD I have some of those liners too, but I usually finish those pictures traditionally, finish hand-made outlines by computer is a bit of a mess (for me) xDD good luck with it!!
what I was meaning was making them "freehand" but using the pen tablet lol you have one, right? (=

I do not have a tablet. My outlines were done with mouse + pen tool in Photoshop. Otherwise I have to outline them traditionally.

It's just practice. And to be honest I'm very out of practice at the moment.

The sketch was originally to practice positions but when fooling around with it I just kept the light source the same as well.

Yes, but it's hot as hell where I am. Though it's starting to cool down a bit.

Hm... what temperature is summer from where you live? If I recall correctly, the highest in Brisbane (near where I live) is about 42 degrees (normally about the 30s).

Summer is like...80-100 degrees normally here. So yeah, it's opposite. Unless you're doing Celcius; I read temperatures in Fahrenheit. The United States are so stubborn...

Celcius then - I'm usually more used to that mesurement.
