Description ***SPOILER Star wars - Legacy of the Force: Invincible ***

This is Jaina Solo after killing Darth Caedus, who formerly had been Jacen Solo, her twin-brother.

I'd drawn the lineart before Invincible was published, after reading a spoiler on Wookiepedia of Jaina, tearfully embracing Jacen's dead form after finishing him. I found it so moving that I felt I had to draw it. Since it was done before the book came out, Jacen still has both his legs as I learnt only recently that he loses one of them in the final battle against her. I didn't want to erase a leg because I liked it this way

I have to admit I haven't read nor NJO or LotF, and for now I don't even intend to. I know a lot of events about them but I don't quite like them, there are too many loss for me. Anyways, this tragedy between the twins was not my favourite at all but too touching to neglect it. Poor Solo family

This is so sad! I like how you gave him a slash wound instead of a puncture, and how Jaina is actually crying, because she was.
Do I have your permission to use this image (with credit, obviously) for a personal project I'm working on?

It's a Jaina-centric personal project called Sword of the Jedi: The Musical. The visual aspect of these videos is fairly simple and slideshow-esque. Since there's very little official art of Jaina and Caedus, I'm hoping to use fan art, especially pieces that convey the emotion I'm looking for.

If you'd like to get a better understanding of what your image would be used for, let me know and I'll provide a link to the first installment (or you can search for "Sword of the Jedi The Musical").Β
I didn't want to just post the link here for fear it could be misconstrued as self-promotion which is not the goal.

Thank you for your time regardless of your answer.

Hi there. Sorry for taking long to answer, sure feel free to use this image, just maybe credit me - not that i'm much proud of this, tbh It was so long ago and I still try to tell myself I could do it better now Good luck with your project! And you are right, there is not much to be found with Jaina and Caedus - but no wonder, it is pretty heartbreaking

Pretty cool. I too haven't read much of the EU, but that's only because I've been focusing on the Clone Wars series before the Rebellion era. Now I REALLY want to get into what happens after ROTJ! It's maddening cuz I can't afford to get all the books, only a few a month! ARRGH.

I'm actually more interested in the BBY10-ABY20 era, and mostly those that feature the old trilogy characters. I guess the Clone wars and the events of the new trilogy are not my cup of tea. And the reason I'm not quite into anything from NJO, is that it doesnt respect or regard the main characters as untouchable idols - I mean, I dont wanna read about Chewie or Mara dying, because they and all the others are immortal for me. That's why I always loved SW, because you can read countless of books without the risk of letting your fav chars go. While reading you can be worried about the heros, but deep inside you know they wouldnt die in the end, and it is great this way. NJO and LotF just make my heart ache, and I dont like this feeling.

I've always found it annoying how too little main characters die in literarture. Star Trek's a good example of this. I'm talking about the series, yet even in the movies it takes a while for it to happen. Data had to go through three movies before he died. Spock didn't stay dead. Heck, he even appeared on TNG, 100 years later! Seriously, it's like they ARE immortal! Dying is natural. And in Star Wars, it's not sad, but the journey to a world beyond. I like it when some main characters die because to me it proves they're PEOPLE, like us.

Well whatever. Still like your pic. I can imagine it. I can see all that's going on through Jaina's eyes: Anger, grief, sorrow.... nice.

BTW. Tenel Ka = FAIL!!!!

from an aspect i understand your point of view, especially when they make a character seem dead and then tadam they are back safe and sound. It is just stupid. Still, they are so close to my heart that I can be interested in endless adventures they are featured in, and cant be that in those without them.
But thanks again anyways!

This should never have happened. Jacen's corruption, Mara's murder, the twins fighting, Jaina killing Jacen, all of it.

None of it should have happened.

I'm so glad I found this piece--it's a beautiful capture of a truly tragic moment in the SW EU... This scene in the book had me in tears, too--I knew it would, even before I read it, though... Jaina's emotion here is so perfect--and I knew it would break her heart, Sword or no... **lip quivers** Just wonderful!

Unfortunately, I haven't read any KOTOR That's why I won't start any debate on this, though I'm not sure i would like Jacen as a Sith - eg. for attacking his own family. I'm sorry he became one. Though from another aspect, I understand the sith ways, and some of these are agreeable, but the others are just..tragical
Anyways, thnx

It was actually only a crucial tendon in his ankle that was severed, he just lost the function of his leg because of this. So, really, your picture is quite right in that regard.
