EDIT: For everyone whining about how impractical they are, I know full well. But ffs, is there something so wrong with finding it enjoyable to play around with stupid weapons in a game? Games don't have to be super-realistic all the time!

if the deagle's so awesome why did the isralies deny it as their sidearm? ill tell you why, it's TOO HEAVY dual weilding these is a pain in the ass, and the mechanisim is to complicates, so it jams a fuck load

Revolvers are powerful as fuck but the irealies don't use it.Despite the lack of ammo and how ofrten you'd have to reload it it's still a good gun and it comes in all shapes and sizes. I bet the deagle is just as good.Only difference is that it's the modern day version of a magnum and holds up to 1 bullet more and that's it.

its a sidearm you know. A badass one at that, its going to have a lager weapon with it, and its one of the deadliest handguns around that uses a clip.

The most badass sidearm isn't one that "Looks nice" but is one that is actually useful. The desert eagle is basically a shits n' giggles gun, you shoot it for fun but it has no place in actual combat. I'd take a P226 over the Desert Eagle any day. It weighs too much for a handgun, the recoil on it is ridiculous, and the .50 Action Express is such a heavy round that it doesn't get far before losing velocity.

i know that, its like i mention that it is a side arm, jeez come on, if i want a reliable main gun it would be an ak, but the desert eagle would be my side arm if i cant get more ammo.

I am fully aware of how useless the Desert Eagle would be in a real firefight, but I think they're awesome cos they're shiny and make a nice noise

Actually, they follow different arcs. Throwing Knives follow the same arc as a Frag, not a Semtex. I don't like using explosives anyway >_>

unless you've heard it in person I dont think you can make that statement.
The thing is over 9" long, very heavy and it uses ammo that even in America (I understand you are in the UK) is very hard to find.
To it's credit as a gun it's not that bad, it works, it's balanced in the hand (very important with handguns) and it does what other guns tried to do and failed.
I'm saying from experience you could not pay me to use it in self defense. I prefer .45ACP, because I shoot that better than anything, it's widely avaliable and will stop an offender cold.
It's a myth to think you need something like .50AE to stop a man.

Ok, all I can say is watching videos of it and reading up on its various stats. And I agree that a .40 or .45 is plenty big enough, though I cannot say I have fired anything other than a .22 bolt action rifle (The No.8), so, yeah, whatever
