I love the image you've captured here. You did an excellent job with the composition of this photo. The mountains in the distance with the snow separating them from the trees sitting in front, all being viewed from a distance over the expanse of the frozen path leading to them certainly does give one the feeling of solitude. I think the foggy clouds sitting low on the mountains also help to bring that sentiment to the fore.
I do like that you've presented the image in black and white. It makes the idea you're trying to convey stand out so much more than a color image would have done. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you for the detailed comment! I'm glad other people are able to get the sense of solitude out of this photo because that is really what I felt as I took this photo. Despite this lake being an incredibly popular destination I didn't see another person while there. That coupled with the snow falling around me and obscuring my view it I really did feel completely alone.

I can certainly see how that would have punctuated the feeling. Especially not having seen anyone else while you were there. Depending on whether you enjoy solitude, that could have left you feeling bereft as well.
