If the earlier chibi-Korra was any indication, yes, this was coming for a while. We never watched Avatar when it first came out, let alont Legend of Kora, but hype was hype and when the internet started gushing about "ZOMG KORRASAMI CANON!! and then watched the Idea Channel do a video on it, well, we were curious enough to see what it was like.

Of course we watched it in reverse order, season 4 then 3 then 2. To be lost was an understatement, but the last two seasons in particular were interesting and well done - even if Asami had nothing to do for the most part. I agree with the Idea Channel that the two certainly have chemistry, and of course I love the idea of these two being canonized on TV. I ship it. Their characters are both strong and compelling - from someone coming to terms with being a spiritual and political leader to someone who invents and runs her own corporate conglomerate - and both GIRLS no less... my feminist heart is happy.

As for the piece itself... guehhhh. Their noses. There is something that is just... OFF with their noses, and I can't pinpoint where. Their eyes are a little off too - more because of the realistic shading and the anime eyes, the shape is off somehow and it looks more creepy instead of happy. That in turn compounds whatever is wrong with the noses and it dives headfirst into the Uncanny Valley. I need to do another study on faces, figure out what it is I'm missing.

Next deviation will be my 300th - I'll have to do something epic. Just as soon as I figure out what that is...

What I like: hair (duh, I could do hair forever) General proportions, height.

What I don't like: noses and eyes...
