I love the lazy grin on his face, the mane falls really nice, like long hair then a lion's mane and his slouch sitting is beautiful!

This is an excellent interpretation of the myth. The one i drew once looks similar, but not the same. I like yours. For some reason mine has a scorpion's tail?

I always thought of the Manticore as a very creepy animal. You rendered it wonderfully, with great realism and . . . ^^; And stylized lovely creepism.
