Description
This bird is a red-billed leiothrix, a common pet bird in east Asia. I used to have a pet leiothrix when I was a kid, too. I felt very bad when it later suffered a tragic death. Kids should not be allowed to keep pets especially fragile little birds....>_>

I did the lower painting first, and then realized I had accidentally used cheap watercolor paper...look at that horrible background. The top painting was done later with better paper. The background is still horrible but that is my fault not the paper. Thing is, in the later painting the bird came out kind of wrong, 'cause I went lazy and didn't take the time to carefully do the line sketch. I'll just put both pics for reference.

My watercolor painting skills are still abysmal....T_T ...Critiques and suggestions badly needed!!!
