Description Series of Neo Digi Ukiyoe, 2006

With inspired by “Nezumi-kozou” who was a merciful thief to the poor and actually existed in the Edo period, I created my original super band of thieves. The boy’s unique partners are the famous imaginary creatures:

Komainu: A pair of lion-like dogs usually put on the gate of shrines. They have a power against evil.
Tengu: A specter living in the heart of a mountain. He has supernatural powers and can fly over.
Byakko: One of the Shi-shin (four gods). The guardian god for the westward looks like a white tiger.
Kyuubino Kitsune: A fox monster with nine tails which live through thousands of years.
Yatagarasu: A messenger of the sun goddess looks like a crow with three legs.

Very nice. Very cool looking style. I like that 9-tailed fox.

Does the Swastika symbol mean something? In my naivety I didn't realize other cultures used that symbol (besides Nazi Germany).

It is said "Manji" in Japanese. The angle is different from Swastika of Nazis, you know.
Uses it as a sign of the buddhist temple in Japan.

*I'm sorry my unskilled English...
