Description Here's another finished doodle in my new moleskine book (I am loving this little sketchbook so much).

This is a drawing of a picture I took when I went back to Japan this past October. It's a picture of the enmusubi souvenir stands at Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. enmusubi means to unite two people together, so at this temple, the enmusubi God will hear your prayers and unite you with the one you love. :]

This isn't exactly the greatest drawing, what with my unusually wobbly lines (I can't seem to make straight lines at the edges of books, lol). That, and there are many, many mistakes D': Nevertheless, I had fun. This was the first time crosshatching, too — that was neat. :3

Done on a Moleskine notebook with Sakura Micron pens.

I looked at that this again...and my heart stooped. I have pictures of this same place, and (if I'm correct but I could totally have it backward) but that's the very stand that I bought my study omamori from. I also made it safely to the love rock. Love forever. My gosh, I wasn't doing DA at this time, but I am totally like...(dang it all I can think of now is ăȘă€ă‹ă—ăăȘった and not proper English feels.) Oh my feels. ;^;

Ahh, I'm so bad at responding to comments. So sorry for the late reply!

Thank you for the complement! :3 And no, I've actually never considered selling them. I don't imagine anyone buying them? Hmmm, lol.

You should get a moleskine book. They have one for storyboarding, you know.

I am SO HORRIBLE at storyboarding. Like BLOODY AWFUL! I've been critical about myself on things, but I know when I've tried my best and things are alright and I'm being a little hard on myself. No. I'm SO SO BAD at storyboarding.

Wow, this is fabulous! How long did you stay in Japan, and, do you speak Japanese? Sorry, I'm addicted to traveling and other cultures...lol

I really think you'd be great with watercolors; this is a great base and a great concept for a solid watercolor painting. Fo sho.

I'm terrible at responding to comments and I'm so inactive on DeviantART. Sorry for the late reply! Thank you for the sweet complement, too.

I was actually born in Japan and lived there until I was 6. I moved to the US when I turned 7, and I spent most of my summers in Japan until I turned 10 and we couldn't afford it anymore, lol. This picture was based off of a picture I took when I went back in 2009 for my brother's wedding. And yeah, I speak it fluently.

Anyway, as far as my moleskine is concerned, I only just recently started water coloring in it. I'm still not that good at it, but I can definitely see why you'd recommend it.

Thanks again!

I'm loving these moleskine sketches. I've been meaning to get a moleskine myself but I never get around to it, lol.

Seriously though, there's so much detail in these drawings.

Oh, oh, oh! I totally, totally recommend them, Beau! They are so fantastic to work on. It feels nice having a little sketchbook (that's great in quality) that you can take with you everywhere, you know? I'm contemplating getting the water-color one now.

And lol, I get carried away in details sometimes. 8D Especially when I work with ink pens. There's something about black and white pieces that I really just love

Yeah, I hear they're really great!

Pen is a lot of fun. I don't draw in it enough anymore, but I know what you mean about getting carried away.
