Description
Not sure of the variety. Just a quick pic of one the Iris blooms in Mom's yard.Taken with my Nikon Cool Pix and adjusted in Corel for lighting. I was suprised with the result I got from just an ordinary looking original photo. I'm thinking I may need to do the same to a few more of the better shots and see what happens.

Well sometimes to appreciate the hard work that went into the drawing one has to see the original. I think that the details you drew are better than the original. Your drawing looks translucent.

Creds to my mom for making it easy by choosing and growing it. All I had to do was notice it, point, shoot, and adjust a tiny bit for the lighting.

well, they're not really black, just a really deep purple...

I had to go look some up online. They really do look black with just a thin band of purple on the outer petals. Cool!

pretty huh? as soon as I move in with a friend I'm taking some bulbs with me, I also want to get some red and white Gladiolus and maybe some other flowers... but I do best with bulbs.

I have a "black" thumb, so I just have to apprecciate how green my mom's thumb is and draw the blooms or take photos instead....lol.

Bulbs are easy to take care of, just plant them and water them once a day

So they say....I kill cactus. I still buy plants once in awhile, just can't expect them to stick around long....lol.

This is so very beautiful! I bought several iris plants for my hubby's Mom and four for me. I can't wait until spring to see the blooms! I choose a peach colored iris, never really have seen one!
