The scar upon her eye represent how blind she is 
to the world around her and the evils within it.
Physically it doesn't blind her, she can see out of it somewhat clearly but its more figurative.

She's a semi-representation of myself and the more that I think I "see"
the more I blind myself to. The scars she caries are also mirrors of my own physical scars from cancer.
