Positive traits =

Protective | Riley means well when he tries to help some one out, but sometimes it can be obnoxious. He's aware that he's not the kindest person ever, so he doing a good deed every once in awhile to remind himself he's not a totally terrible person. He doesn't mean to annoy the person, he just likes the thought that he's actually helping someone for once. He doesn't quite understand how other's think and act, and has a hard time realizing the some people don't want his help. He absolutely hates seeing people bullied in any way, and does not tolerate just sitting there at all.

Loyal | Riley is extremely loyal to anyone who pays attention to him and gives him affection. He may be a big jerk, but he stands by and supports who ever is willing to put up with him. He'll still make rude remarks and insult them, but consider it tough love. He doesn't get easily attached right away, but after a long time he'll begin to open up and is willing to do anything for someone who provides comfort. He's very unlikely to betray someone or talk about them behind their back, and it very honest and out right about what he thinks. He doesn't keep it in his mind either, which is why he makes rude comments constantly.

Negative/Pessimistic | Riley will always find something to complain about or insult. It annoys everyone around him to no end, but he can never be truly satisfied and can ruin a day in the blink of an eye. He can't help but point out when something's done wrong and will not hesitate to complain. Riley is very picky and will throw a fit about the silliest things. In a way he's like a big five year old who loves to ruin the mood. If you take him out for dinner then be ready to get an ear full about how the water tastes like it came fresh from the dishwasher. Anti-social | It's a bit rare to see Riley out around the cruise ship at night, and if he is, he's probably playing the piano somewhere. He is very introverted and giving people attention is exhausting to him. People might think he's being lazy, but he needs a lot of time to go back in his room and recharge after a long day. He doesn't work well with other people and is incredibly awkward when it comes to making conversation. Not only because he can be incredibly rude, he just doesn't understand social interactions like others do, and it's a bit of a chore for him even talking to someone he knows. It's not that he doesn't want the company, it's just stressful for him and he wonders how people get along so easily. He gets a bit jealous of how well people are able to communicate without messing up their words.

Aggressive | Even as a kid, Riley didn't play well with others. He's is extremely aggressive and has a short temper, and if provoked enough, he will attack. It's rare to see him hit first, he goes by the rule of "don't hit them unless they hit first." He knows the blame will be on him, so he tries to be smart about it and instead bottles it up, which hasn't proven to be healthy. Because of his love for physical fighting, you'll often see him with bruises and cuts on his face.

Riley's parents met when they were both in college. His mother, Belle, was a rebellious young girl, but she still had to pay her bills, so she took up a job at the local grocery store. His father, Samuel, would stop by every once in awhile to do his shopping. He eventually grew attracted to her and went out of his way to get to talk to her. They eventually became friends and were always doing something chaotic, running around town up to no good. As time went on, Belle matured a great bit and pursued to be a teacher, while Samuel aimed for a job at the police station. They settled down in a smaller house and made it through some tough years, but pulled through just fine. They were doing well when Samuel got his knee injured, and had to give up his job as an police officer. Belle ended up bringing in the money full time, and they began to save their money more and more, figuring out ways to save it. Time passed, and Riley was born. He was a very quiet, but happy baby.

Child
His parents were pretty happy and carefree people, and did their best to raise their only child. Not being near other children in a family, of course Riley grew to be a bit introverted, but at the same time treated the few friends that he had with him as siblings. That's where his protective side comes in. Throughout school, the kids grew meaner and were striving to impress everyone. The time came around where they would even pick on noisome just to look cool. He began to drift away from all of his friends and would rarely talk to anyone. As he grew up, his mom tried to give him something to do, a hobby, to make him more happy. She had him try out for soccer, but he didn't like it. She tried to get him into school clubs, but he hated that even more. Eventually she tried piano lessons, which although he didn't say it, he liked.

Young Adult
Time went on and Riley breezed through middle and high school. Before he wanted to go to college, he wanted to take a couple years to find what he liked doing. Although he loved his parents, he felt the need to get away for awhile and be by himself. Even though he had a great fear of water, he liked the idea of playing piano for the cruise ship. It would be a way to relax himself and hopefully make some new friends. In a way he wanted it to be a new start, with a brand new personality that everyone liked, but he gave up on that goal after awhile. He couldn't change who he was in such a short amount of time, and excluded himself from even trying to make friends. He found the Weeping Voyager to be relaxing and interesting, he rarely got bored and decided to stay a bit longer.
