I use a 400 mm super tele I was about 150 feet or more away from the bird. I was on the roadway and the bird in the marsh. parker national wildlife refuge on plum island mass usa

casual or camo clothing? I've tried taking pictures of herons but they kept flying away as soon as they saw me... I was not able to get closer than 500 feet i think...

just casual this marsh is in a protected area. and the wild life is relaxed here as no one will disturb them as the area is under the control of the us forest service.
