I think the pastels love you lol If this was your first attempt as using them, then you are very, very good and born to use them. Pastels are a beast unto themselves and usually take much time to learn. You seem to have fallen into them very gracefully.

First time using pastels? I don't buy it. This is way to good to be an experiment.
The colours and shadows are amazing. The only problem I see is that I think your iris is a little un-rounded. It's not particularly noticeable though. I was too busy staring at the colour. The person with those eyes are unbelievably lucky.

haha, eyes are my favorite thing to draw... and probably what i'm best at.
so, I decided to stick to something familiar... this really is the first time i've used chalk pastels!

i'm trying to figure out how to make harder edges and the like...
