Description This is the Elephant Tree. I was inspired by a mutilated oak in the rain. This is the second air-brush Ive done from start to finish. Aprox. 5 months. It was really a study in detail , to see how much I could achieve. And Yes, I am a Giger fan.
Done with a Badger Crescendo-175T

Post Script...

As I have stated, this was inspired by an Oak Tree that I saw in the rain. What I have not stated is that it is also an homage to trees, the night and the moon goddess, Diana ( Thats the smiling face on the right) Ever look through tree branches at a light source e.g. the moon, a streetlight, and see the patterns that are made from the branches with the light? Thats the skeletal formation on the right as well.

That is, if you are interested...

Great work. Gigeresque, but a very original concept. It probably doesn't hurt that I love elephants and old hardwoods.

Why thanks Hombre! I love the Giger but I try to distance myself from his work, but its so damned hard not to emulate someone so amazing. This piece is old and I have since moved on, but it does show up from time to time.

Love this too. Imagining a whole forest of Elephant Trees, growing silently and nursing grudges for centuries.

Spooky.
