Description
Originally I just wanted Onix to be the killer worm monster, but making diglett one as well felt like a fun idea. A weird mutation from this apocalyptic wasteland filled with infinity energy making pokemon change rapidly over a short period of time.

So, diglett went from a small mole to becoming like a worm. Since we haven't really seen diglett's bottom officially, I just imagine the species got longer, kinda like getting more similiar to a Wiglett from Scarlet/Violet. But you could also imagine they just lose their limbs, kinda like how snakes have some leg bones left from a previous stage in their evolution, or how whales also still got some leg bones.

They drill through the ground just eating mud and minerals and sometimes lurking on top waiting to jump on smaller prey pokemon. When they evolve into a Dugwyrm however, they get more violent. Their heads are now covered in a stone layer with only their mouths exposed. They ravage through cave systems eating the creatures living in deeper areas of the caves. When feeling adventurous they will also go to the top side, crashing through the ground as they jump in and out of the ground, smashing stuff with the heavy rock on its tail and its club like heads. Trying to grab whatever is around them in their maws.

Digletts need a lot of energy to evolve into a Dugwyrm however, so luckily these monsters are not too common in the wild.

Humanoid bugs who could bring down skyscrapers with just one of their kicks or punches, some even had these long proboscises that could drain a Snorlax of its fluids until it was flat like a balloon. Living paper that could cut like steel, rockets made from bamboo that crashed and burned down our town, mad clowns with bombs for heads, jellyfish who attached themselves to any person or pokemon like a parasite, sentient rock that could disguise itself as the buildings it would first destroy and a gluttonous king to outmatch all of them… ‘’Guzzlord’’ it’s the only Ultra Beast I know the name of… 80% of its body was just its maw alone, it could and would eat anything, it was enormous… the entire Prism Tower… gone in one munch… and there were so many more of them that I can simply not describe. They weren’t individuals either, all of these monsters came in multiples, they were a species just like any pokemon. Imagine a Rattata infestation, but they were 3 meters tall and with the power of legendaries.Humanity tried fighting against the invaders, but their entrances into our world, the Ultra Wormholes, they just would not close… For each one beaten, three more would show up. People tried catching them, if they could not fight it, maybe they could contain it, but any kind of regular pokeball was basically useless… It was attempted to mass produce master balls, but many factories were already attacked by the Ultra Beasts.Humanity was not alone in the fight against the invaders however, many legendary pokemon fought the beasts as well… but they did not hold back, they did not account for any human casualties… ‘’Zygarde’’… The protector of the ecosystem… It went rampant… normally it would have been 100 smaller creatures known as the Zygarde cells, just watching the world and only interfering when needed. The Ultra Wormholes had only needed minutes to plunge the world in utter chaos. Quickly it had formed into its perfect 100% form. A giant humanoid, bigger than any skyscraper. It blasted the many pests with its powerful attacks, but once again did not care for the human lives that stood between it and its targets. Perhaps it knew it was the actions of a human who had caused this unbalance…All over the world groups tried finding ways to combat the invasion. In a place once known as ‘’Hoenn’’ two evil teams, turned nature activists tried to once again awaken the legendaries they wanted to use for their evil schemes in the past, but now they thought it would be to help humanity… They brought artifacts knows as the Blue and Red orb to the corresponding legendary, Groudon and Kyogre. These artifacts would enhance the pokemons power by having them go through ‘’Primal Reversion’’ turning the two into their stronger primal forms from times long past. The team leaders were still as foolish as when they fought for the evil side. The legendaries went wild, just like last time. Groudon called upon the sun and made it cause a world wide drought, Kyogre used its powers to raise the water levels, drowning so many…5 days… that’s how long humanity could survive the attack before turning to… it… The Ultimate Weapon… Made 3000 years before the Old World… it ran on ‘’Infinity Energy’’… you know what that is? … It’s pokemon life force… It sucks the souls out of pokemon and uses it for a destructive beam that had caused so many pain and loss… but it was all they had left to try. The world leaders, professors and champions had done everything they could… they had no other choice if they wanted humankind to survive…In a sense… they were right, we humans are still surviving to this day… but existing in this wasteland… I would not call it living.The ultimate weapon could be powered by the legendary pokemon of life Xerneas or of death Yveltal… The Kalos region had both of these pokemon contained after an earlier reawakening of the weapon by ‘’Team Flare’’. The Old World leaders thought that maybe if they powered the machine with both pokemon, it could reach further. There was not much time for testing and hypothesizing. They knew what they were facing, they knew what the costs of their actions would be… that last part was where they were wrong.They started powering The Ultimate Weapon, they had set up a perimeter so that only the wild pokemon in that area would be losing their Infinity Energy to the weapon… They had speculated that with both the legendaries and the souls from the bordered area, they could shoot multiple beams to wipe out the Ultra Beasts out all over the world… so they fired it up.The machine took from way more than just the set off area… almost all of Kalos and even parts of the neighboring Galar region would have all pokemon lose their lives, even those who were caught and just not in their pokeball in the moment would be drained. Hooking up both the legendary of death and of life powered the weapon up more than any of them could have imagined… they weren’t the makers of the weapon after all…And so thousands of pokemon souls were shot into the atmosphere in a beam of blinding blue, once at its peak height the beam exploded itself into multiple smaller beams, tens of thousands of blue lights fell down back on us, it was like a meteor shower of explosives. All over the planet these beams of destruction would fall… It would indeed kill many Ultra Beasts, it even caused most of the Ultra Wormholes to lose their stability and fade away… but it would also kill so many people and pokemon alike, it destroyed towns, cities, nature, it reduced everything into this wasteland we now live in.…You know how the pokemon of our new world are so different from the old one? Ever thought how that kind of evolution or regional change happened in just 150 years? It’s the fallout of that overcharged weapon… Infinity Energy fell down with those beams, going into the soil and the air we breathe. The wormholes also left traces of itself, an energy that caused Alolan pokemon to increase in size. These energies do not affect us humans, but they merged and reacted with each other and probably with other energies as well, like the Dynamax energy from Galar, this amalgamation of pokemon energy is what we now call ‘’Radiation’’… That is why our pokemon have changed so rapidly… another consequence from launching that weapon… from summoning those Ultra Beasts… from destroying our Old World…
